________

Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic treatment, is a procedure aimed at saving a tooth that is infected or badly decayed. During the procedure, the inflamed or infected pulp is removed, the inside of the roots are carefully cleaned, disinfected, and sealed. This process helps to alleviate pain and preserve the natural tooth to health and function.

Vital pulp therapy may also be offered to retain the pulp in certain cases, such as immature root formation or dental trauma. This can be done with procedures such as a direct pulp cap or pulpotomy.

________

Root canal re-treatment is a procedure performed when a previously root canal treated tooth fails, experiences pain or undergoes infection. It involves reopening the tooth, removing the old filling material from the roots, cleaning the canals, and sealing them again. This helps save the natural tooth and alleviate any discomfort or issues that may have arisen since the initial root canal treatment.

Advanced technology such as CBCT (3D imagery), magnification with dental microscopes, and ultrasonic instruments are commonly used during this procedure by the specialist.

________

Cracked teeth is a common dental issue that leads to severe pain and discomfort. When a tooth cracks due to large fillings, clenching or trauma, it can expose the nerves inside to the oral cavity. This can cause sensitivity, pain, and infection. Seeking emergency dental treatment is crucial to prevent further damage to the tooth or surrounding tissues.

Teeth may also be displaced or avulsed during a traumatic incident, in which they can be repositioned and splinted to preserve them in the oral cavity, followed by root canal treatment.

________

We utilize state-of-the-art dental microscopes to enhance the precision of our root canal treatments. These microscopes provide high magnification and illumination, allowing us to visualize intricate details within the tooth's canal system. By utilizing this advanced technology, we can ensure thorough cleaning, shaping, and sealing of the root canals, leading to successful treatment outcomes for our patients.

________

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) three dimensional radiographs play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment success of root canal procedures. These 3D scans allow us to accurately assess the internal anatomy of the tooth, identify root canal abnormalities, and detect any additional canals that may be missed with traditional two-dimensional x-rays. This advanced imaging technology improves the precision of treatment planning, ensuring thorough cleaning, shaping, and filling of the root canal system.

Bioceramic materials are versatile in root canal treatment due to their biocompatibility, sealing ability, and antimicrobial properties. These materials help to create a tight seal within the root canal system, preventing reinfection and promoting successful healing.

Ultrasonic instruments allow us to conservatively locate canals and efficiently clean the root canal spaces. The use of ultrasonics allows for the removal of debris, smear layer, and infected tissue leading to improved disinfection and better outcomes.

Rotary files offer increased efficiency and precision during canal preparation. These flexible, motor-driven instruments help in shaping the root canal system effectively compared to mechanical hand files.
